Why YOU should watch ERASED!
I’d forgive you if you never heard of ERASED. It was a manga written by Boku dake ga Inai Machi that started from June 4th of 2012 and concluded in March of 2016. It then became an animated series in January of 2016 and concluded in March as well.

Context Matters
The story starts with the main character Satoru Fujinuma, who has the ability called ‘Revival‘ in which time reverts back a couple of seconds. Pretty standard superhero story but it’s far more complicated than it appears.
That’s all I’ll give for story as you should really watch it yourself. Watch the opening while you’re here.
Why am I telling you all of this?

The reason I am mentioning all this is due to the fact ERASED is possibly one of the best animated series of all time. Now I understand you’d be hesitant to believe me, but if you watch the first episode you won’t regret it.
One reason for this is that it subverts the science fiction genre and creates tension by creating a sense of mystery. The biggest point of the story is how Satoru will save Kato but also his friends.
There’s always a negative
My personal complaint about this amazing anime is that it’s short. It has a 12 episode structure which is a rarity. Comparing this to most recent anime such as RE:Zero which has 26 episodes and runs around the same time.
However with that one small issue. ERASED is a perfect story.
ERASED is on Netflix and Crunchyroll. You can add it to your collection and support Super Hero Junky at the same time by clocking this link here. Erased Vol 1 (Eps 1-6) [Blu-ray]and Erased Vol 2 (Eps 7-12) [Blu-ray]
