Top 3 Female Super Heroes – MCU

MARVELS TOP 3 FEMALE SUPERHEROS

We all have our favorite hero’s among the MCU, but the ever-growing list of hero’s and action packed storylines make it a very difficult and forever changing decision. After the recent release of Marvels billion dollar films “Avengers Endgame” and “Captain Marvel”, let’s concentrate on our female superheroes. Our on screen queens dominating the MCU. Let’s jump into it…

3. Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff

Portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen, the Scarlet Witch has already brought tons of power fueled action scenes since her first appearance in Avengers AoU in 2015, and it seems she’s only getting started. With Scarlet Witch’s upcoming appearances in “WandaVision” and “Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness”, her future in the MCU is bright.

From being able to use mind control on the most powerful beings on earth (the avengers) and who could forget that entrance in the battle of Sokovia, she has only got bigger and better. Protecting her fellow teammates Natasha and Okoye in the Battle of Wakanda, using just her powers effortlessly lifting multiple threshers sent by Thanos’ army, catapults them back crushing the oncoming army. This was just a glimpse of how powerful she is, however.

Now we can’t forget about THAT scene in “Endgame”. Endgame brought us some of the most intense scenes of the last 10 years, but one scene in particular stood out. Wanda vs Thanos. The Mad Titan Vs The Scarlet Witch. After Thanos brutally murdered Vision, were not surprised she was ready to kick some purple butt after she was brought back from the dust. The death of Vis still fresh to her, she took him on with fury and no sign of stopping till he was dead. She very nearly succeeded. Breaking Thanos’ sword and throwing energy blast after blast. Stripping Thanos of his armor mid-air? We saw an unstoppable side of Wanda. Truly bone chilling and exciting. I’m sure we will be seeing more of this side of the Scarlet Witch in the future of the MCU.

2. Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers

Portrayed by Brie Larson, Captain Marvel is the newest hero to be welcomed to the MCU and already one of the, if not the, strongest hero to date. First off we must look at the dedication of the actor herself. The love of this character really shows in Brie’s portrayal of Carol Danvers but also in her personal life too.

Larson trained for months in order to get action hero ready and it certainly paid off. She even made appearances at cinemas across America opening night of her movie sporting a Captain Marvel themed tracksuit serving up movie snacks to fans who came to watch the film. The love she has for the character is reason enough for her to make this list.

But let’s get back to the character at hand. Miss Danvers may have been late to the party, but boy has she made an impact. If anyone needs proof of how powerful she really is we just need to look at her appearances in Endgame. Within the first 10 minutes of the movie, with the help of Captain Marvel, the avengers successfully capture and kill Thanos; something in which every hero team failed to do in the previous movie “Infinity War”.

“The Avenger”

Who could forget that moment in the final battle where she took on Thanos, one on one. The moment Thanos head butted Captain Marvel and she didn’t even flinch. WOW. If that’s not enough, let’s look at her standalone film. “Captain Marvel” broke records as the first ever female lead super hero film in the MCU. Hitting the 1 Billion mark, Brie and Captain Marvel showed all the haters how it’s done.

Let’s put aside her awesome powers and strength, she is still an amazing person. Captain Marvel teaches you don’t have to prove yourself to anyone and embrace who you truly are. When Yonn-Rogg challenges hi former student and follower, she rises above it and sets him straight, knocking him down and stating “I have nothing to prove to you”.

What an amazing example and role model this character is to young people who are watching this film. Before we move on to our number 1 female hero, we have to mention the scene where Carol unlocks her powers full potential. Stating ‘I’ve been fighting with one arm tied behind my back, but what happens when I’m finally set free?’. Chills. Chills throughout my entire body. I knew we were about to witness movie magic and she did not dis appoint. This is just the beginning of the outspoken, bad ass Captain Marvel.

1. Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff

One of the original 6 Avengers, Natasha Romanoff portrayed by Scarlet Johansson. Black Widow paved the way for all female hero’s in the MCU. Despite not having enhanced superpowers like our previous hero’s, Black widows strengths come from a dark past and brutal training. This equipped her to take on battle after battle with her fellow Avengers. From her very first appearance in “Iron Man 2” to her latest appearance in “Avengers Endgame”; Natasha has certainly gave us some scenes to remember (and some amazing hair transformations). She has delivered some of the most iconic lines out of the entire franchise:

“sorry, did I step on your moment”, “I don’t see how that’s a party”, “I’ve got red in my ledger”, “we don’t want to kill you, but we will”, “see you in a minute”

Just to name a few. Not only is she the queen of one liners, she has also given us some epic action scenes.

Despite not having enhanced powers unlike so many of her teammates, Natasha has took on many dangerous battles and come out the other side unharmed. She has even taken on aliens more than once, such as her encounters with Proxima Midnight in “avengers infinity war”. Black Widow may be tough trained assassin, but a huge part of her character comes from her softer side; which seems to develop the more we see her. We learn in Endgame that she thinks of the Avengers as her family and is devastated over losing them “I used to have nothing, then I got this, this job, this family and I was better because of it” . This is some huge character development, going from a lone wolf who was trained not love as it’s “compromising”, to classing these people as her family.

Friends Forever

Her friendship with Clint has had a major impact on Black Widows story line. Let’s not forget when first asked by Loki in the first avengers movie “is this love agent Romanoff?” and she replied “love is for children I owe him a debt” , we now know this isn’t case. Natasha was the only other person to not only know Clint had a family but was also referred to as “auntie nat” by his kids!

I guess we have to talk about that heart wrenching scene on Vormir. A soul for a soul, you must lose that which you love. This friendship and love she had for Clint is what ultimately led to this amazing characters demise. Both Hawkeye and Black Widow fighting each other to save the one they love was definitely one of the most intense scenes out the entire MCU. It left us on the edge of our seats.

Black Widow ultimately been the one to die she says to Hawkeye with a smile “let me go”, she was happy to die if it meant Hawkeye, her best friend who she loved with all her heart, survived and could go home to his family. This is the most heroic act out of the entire franchise (bold statement). For this reason alone she makes number 1. If we look on the brighter side, we officially have a Black Widow solo movie coming out 2020 *screams*. With the promise of lots of action scenes and a deeper look into Natasha’s past, this film is for sure going to be a success. And hey if it’s successful they might even bring this character back from the dead (a girl can dream right). We are not ready to say goodbye to this character yet marvel!

WINNER – Black Widow

There you have it, marvels top 3 female superheroes! Thanks to marvel for making these powerful role models and for making the MCU full of female badasses! The future is female.
