Mane Street Soapbox: Street Fighter is More Than II! Trailer

THIS IS MY STREET

My name is Steven Mane; I have three great passions: voice acting, sports, and Street Fighter. When I was a child, I wrote Street Fighter fan fiction, creating dozens of stories all on loose leaf paper. As I grew older, I was pulled away from my childhood passion to focus on things that “mattered”, like school, college, and working, but my love for the game and the characters and stories behind it never died.

Paving Mane Street

Eventually, Street Fighter IV came out, renewing my interest in the game and story. However, it wasn’t until Street Fighter V was released that I realized just how deep the story was. Until V, the story, while compelling, seemed opaque and muddled. Now, suddenly, the story wasn’t murky. It felt to me there were details in the game that everyone had missed. I released my first theory on Karin in 2016, and while it was lauded, I didn’t have another hit for two years, when I wrote my theory on G, which was picked up on Event Hubs. I have since started a blog that contains all of the theories I’ve written so far: Mane Street.

SHJ Collaboration

So, why am I here on Super Hero Junky? Two reasons. One, to spread the word of my blog. Two, to really get out of the “analyst” role and do something more fun. While Super Hero Junky has articles on comics and anime, there really isn’t anything on gaming, so what better way to kick off the topic of super heroes in gaming than with the game series that made super heroes (and villains) of us all?

My mission with this mini-series is simple: to inform you, someone who likely hasn’t played a Street Fighter game other than II, about the deepness of the lore. While I’m at it, I’m also going to take some good-natured potshots at celebrities, all of whom only know Street Fighter through the 16 characters in Street Fighter II and all of its iterations (Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, E. Honda, Dhalsim, Zangief, Blanka, Balrog, Vega, Sagat, M. Bison, Cammy, T. Hawk, Dee Jay, Feilong).

Buckle Up

Quite simply, I’m going to reveal that in Street Fighter, there’s a character for everyone, and it doesn’t have to be the ones you already know about.

So strap in, because for the next ten weeks (with this trailer… 11), you’re going into unprecedented territory with a side of Street Fighter you didn’t think you’d see – one that leaves the mainstream of what you already know.

And we’re gonna have a lot of snark to go with it.

Welcome to Mane Street Soapbox: Street Fighter Is More Than II! I’m looking forward to making you think, making you laugh, and, if you’re a fan of the celebrities I mention, making you angry. That’s fine. The more you post on the social media site of your choosing, the more views this website gets. And if you ARE one of the celebrities mentioned, play as the characters I mention.

You may be surprised just how on the ball I am with these.
